We Launched a Clubhouse

Just in time for the holidays, we are so thrilled to be opening our doors to the Racquet Clubhouse. In our hometown of New York City, there's only one club that offers best-in-class tennis, padel and squash—alongside a spa, juice and coffee bar: CityView Racquet Club. That's where we've launched our first IRL pro shop.

Racquet Clubhouse

Like every good pro shop, we're offering pro tour-level stringing and racquet customization with in-person consultations, but we're also up to so much more. A visit to the Clubhouse offers a glimpse into our archives, a curated (and rotating) selection of our favorite products, from the celebrated—think Babolat racquets and palas—and legacy revivals like that from our friends at BOAST.

BOAST's holiday collection features quarter-zips, Flounce skirts and shorts, accessories and the pièce de résistance: A classic Cable-Knit Sweater. VIP guests took home lightweight quilted vests and quilted bomber jackets in their swag bags.

We're kicking off our Clubhouse with an exclusive retail experience of BOAST's new Holiday line. From staples like pique polos and warmups that put the all-American brand with the Japanese maple leaf on the map in '73, to the hottest items on offer—the quarter-zip, Flounce skirt, cheeky accessories from hats and sweatbands to high socks, all nestled around the star of the show—the Cable Knit Sweater—our Clubhouse has it all.

At our launch, select VIP attendees went home with lightweight quilted vests in black and grey as well as quilted bomber jackets in white.

Brisas' padel courts made a photogenic backdrop for Babolat's on-court clinic—with plenty of AirVipers on loan for folks to demo.

On court, our friends from Babolat first hit Brisas' padel facility, hosting a clinic for beginners new to the glass-walled sport, AirVipers in hand before heading over to the Har-Tru, where Clubhouse launch party attendees got the global sneak peek of the new Pure Aero, which will make its debut in 2026 in the arms of who else but Carlos Alcaraz.

Stay hydrated, fam!

Hydration station provided by friends at VOSS—in between glasses of bubbly and some bites—and our friends at D.S. & Durga made sure everyone smelled nice with samplers (and VIP gifts) of their tennis-themed scent CRUSH BALLS. Our special guests also took home Caldera + Lab's The Good serum and The Clean Slate cleanser courtesy of our friends at Jack Taylor.

The Clubhouse connects the pages of our magazine to an IRL world—and we celebrated its opening with some of our closest friends, from the New York Times, The Athletic and Business of Fashion to celebrated indie media colleagues from Grounds Pass' Anastasia Folorunso and Jessica Schiffer from Hard Court, the best new Substack about tennis.

Racquet's Clubhouse library features rare first-edition books, archival issues of Racquet and some of our favorite independent titles like Bagel mag, Portland Tennis Courterly, Italy's Drop Shot and France's Tennis Magazine.

Helping us celebrate was contributor Nick Pachelli, whose celebrated coffee-table book The Tennis Court, holds center court in our Clubhouse archive alongside our favorite archival books and other indie print publications such as Bagel mag, Portland Tennis Courterly, Italy's Drop Shot and France's Tennis Magazine.

From our house merch—custom Waterdrop bottles, No More Bagel Score Racquet Bear hats and crewneck sweatshirts—to the lesser-known gems like MyStyle canvas racquet bags from Italy and Kimony's legendary dampeners and grips, imported directly from Tokyo. As far as we know, the Clubhouse is the only retailer in the country that has those on offer.

We'll be adding to our store every month and featuring our favorite brands, products and partners—so even if you couldn't attend our launch, you can always check it out online—or even better, come by for a visit to the Clubhouse.

A Playable Feast

There’s something wonderful about seeing “closed for the season” on a hotel’s website. They’re just four words, but they say so much: we don’t wring every penny from this property; this location has a “season;” this hotel values your experience far too much to stay open during sub-par weather. “Closed for the season” has a lot of sexy indifference to it; it makes you want to visit even more.

In Dubai, Uncertainty on Court and in the Skies

By the end of the week, it was hard to tell what felt more fragile: the schedule, the draw, the final, or the belief that sport can stay separate from the world around it.

Jessica Pegula has a Serious Sleep Routine

World No. 5 Jessica Pegula has had a busy few weeks. From lifting the trophy in Dubai for her fourth Masters 1000 title to becoming Blueair’s air wellness ambassador, her results call attention to what many of us already know: sleep hygiene, including managing air quality, is an important part of recovery and overall health.

Racquet’s Guide to Indian Wells

For the uninitiated, we humbly present the following guide to the area surrounding the area. While by no means exhaustive, here are some picks for places of interest while on your way to and from the tournament: some restaurants, sights and even a couple places to stay. And if you’ve been to Indian Wells before, welcome back: It’s going to be another great year.
